Cookie Policy

Last updated: 17 September 2026, version 1.0

This is a translation for your convenience. The German version is legally binding.

This page explains what www.ipixvent.com stores on your device and reads from it, why, for how long, and how you can change that at any time. It also applies to the ipixvent app and to the internal admin interface admin.ipixvent.com, insofar as anything is stored on the device there. What happens to the data afterwards is set out in the Privacy Policy; this page supplements it. What you may and may not do on ipixvent is governed by the Terms of Use and the Community Guidelines; they remain unaffected by this policy.

The key points in brief

1. What this is about

A cookie is a small text file that a website places in your browser and that is sent along with every further visit. Local Storage is storage in the browser that a website can write to and read from, but which is not automatically sent to the server. Both are ways of storing something on your device or reading something from it. The law treats them the same, and so does this policy. Where this policy says “cookies”, it means both, as well as similar techniques such as device identifiers or tracking pixels, should they ever be used.

This policy applies to:

2. Legal basis

Storing something on your device or reading something from it is only permitted with your consent, after you have been clearly informed. This is laid down in § 165(3) TKG 2021 (Austrian Telecommunications Act). There is one exception: storage that is strictly necessary for a service you have expressly requested to work does not require consent. Storing your own cookie decision is such a case. Without it, the site would have to ask you again on every visit.

If personal data is processed via a cookie, the GDPR also applies. For services that require consent, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR; consent must be freely given, informed and unambiguous (Art. 4(11) and Art. 7 GDPR). For what is necessary, the legal basis is our legitimate interest in a functioning website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The controller is ipixvent, Esentepe Mah. 960. Sokak No: 2/6, Melikgazi/Kayseri, Türkiye; everything else about your rights is set out in the Privacy Policy.

3. The four categories

Our consent system has four categories. The tables show what is actually set in each category today. Three of the four categories are empty. They are listed here so that you know what we would ask about if that changes, and so that the consent banner and this page speak the same language.

3.1 Necessary (always on)

So that the site works and your choice is remembered. Runs without consent (§ 165(3) TKG 2021) because there is no alternative to it. This category cannot be deselected; today it contains exactly one entry.

NamePurposeProviderTypeDuration
ipx_consent Remembers your cookie decision: the version of this policy, the time and the categories you chose. Only written once you have made a choice. ipixvent (this website) Local Storage and, as a fallback, a cookie with the same name and content (Path /, SameSite Lax, HTTPS only). The site needs the cookie for browsers that block or clear Local Storage, for example in private mode: it then remembers your choice only via the cookie and would otherwise have to ask you again on every visit. Our server does not read it. 12 months from your decision. After that, or if this policy changes, we ask again.

3.2 Functional

Additional features that remember something, such as a language setting, or embedded content from other providers. Only with consent.

NamePurposeProviderTypeDuration
There are currently no services in this category. Nothing is set.

3.3 Statistics

Audience measurement: which pages are opened and how often. Only with consent. Should we ever want to measure, only methods that build no profiles and pass nothing on for advertising would be considered. Even a measurement that sets no cookie itself would be entered here and announced in advance, because it processes data about your visit.

NamePurposeProviderTypeDuration
There are currently no services in this category. Nothing is set and nothing is measured.

3.4 Marketing

Cookies from advertising partners that track your use across websites in order to attribute ads. Only with consent.

NamePurposeProviderTypeDuration
There are currently no services in this category. Nothing is set. There are no advertising partners on this website.

4. How the consent banner works

5. Changing or withdrawing consent

6. Content from other providers

Today this website embeds no content from other providers. Specifically:

Should this change, the content will be entered in the appropriate category (usually Functional or Marketing), loaded only after your consent, and described here with the provider, purpose, duration and the provider’s location.

7. Cloudflare: server and protection against attacks

The website is delivered via Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). Cloudflare provides the server on which the pages are hosted, fends off attacks and forwards requests. For this, Cloudflare processes technically necessary connection data: your IP address, time, requested address, browser identifier and referring page. Every web server needs this data to deliver a page; the legal basis is our legitimate interest in security and operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We do not analyse it to recognise you or to track your behaviour.

We do not set cookies via Cloudflare. Cloudflare offers a protection against automated access that sets a short-lived cookie (__cf_bm, 30 minutes; it distinguishes bots from humans). We have not switched this protection on; the site does not deliver such a cookie today. Should we switch it on, we will first enter the cookie in the table under 3.1 with its name, purpose, provider and duration. It would not require consent, because it only protects the site against abuse and has no other purpose (§ 165(3) TKG 2021); you should know about it all the same.

Cloudflare is a company based in the USA. It is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; in addition, the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses apply. Details on recipients, transfers to third countries and storage periods are set out in the Privacy Policy.

8. The app on your device

The ipixvent app sets no cookies. On your device it stores only what it needs so that you can use it, and none of this serves advertising or tracking:

WhatPurposeDuration
Login sessionSo that you stay logged in and do not have to log in again every time you start the app. Kept in the app’s storage area on your device, which other apps cannot access.Until you log out, delete your account or uninstall the app.
SettingsWhat you have set in the app, such as language or recently chosen views, insofar as it is not stored with your account anyway.Until you change it or uninstall the app.
Temporary storage (cache)Images and video segments you have just viewed, so that they are there faster next time.Managed by the operating system; cleared when space runs low or when the app is uninstalled.

What else the app processes and which providers are involved is set out in the Privacy Policy.

9. The admin interface

admin.ipixvent.com is the internal interface for staff and is not intended for users. It stores the login session (a session token) in the browser’s Local Storage. This is strictly necessary for logging in to work and falls under the exception in § 165(3) TKG 2021. There is no consent banner there; there is nothing that could be allowed or rejected. The token expires on logging out or when the session runs out. There are no other cookies, no statistics and no advertising there. Anyone who works there receives a separate privacy notice for employees.

10. Record of your decision

So that we can prove that consent was given (Art. 7(1) GDPR), ipx_consent stores three things: the version of this policy, the time of your decision and the categories you chose. The consent system lists this version under the date 2026-09-17; if the policy changes, it is given a new date there. The record is kept on your device; we keep no log of your decision on our servers and do not link it to an account. If you delete the entry, the record is gone too, and the site asks again as soon as there is something to ask.

11. Changes to this policy

We change this policy when laws change or when we add or remove a service. Any change involving a new service that requires consent causes the consent banner to ask again before anything is loaded; your old choice then no longer applies. The version of this policy is shown at the top; earlier versions remain available. A newly added service is entered here first, then in the consent system, never the other way round.
